Her mom signed her up to be one of my senior campaign fresh faces and neither the mom or her daughter knew what they were in for. It was another early morning and we hiked, we sank in the mud, we were attacked by bugs. It was hard to quickly pick a few for you all to see.

{Happy Birthday}

That's a picture of my sister and daughter having fun in a barn we trespassed in (shhh... don't tell anyone). They are best friends and bitter rivals. One minute they love each other and the next they are darting evil glances at each other. I've often described my daughter as a little Candi. Smart, Beautiful, Argumentative, Stubborn just to name a few.

Happy Birthday Candi! I promise it really isn't so bad... you just need to stop focusing on the negative and be grateful for all the things you do have. Don't set your mind on having a bad day. Today is your birthday. Celebrate!!

{Hospitality}

Last night I took my ferns down and put them on the driveway in hopes that it would rain and water them. When I took them down I discovered five tiny bird eggs nestled in a nest. I called my daughter over and showed her the eggs.

Today I walked out and noticed the coke and birdseed left out by the fern. I had to laugh... she was making sure they had plenty to eat and drink. Unfortunately, she also filled the nest with birdseed and probably poured the coke in. Does anyone think these little unborn creatures are salvageable? Send me an e-mail if you think we can save them. I've heard that once a bird egg has been handled by human hands the mommy bird won't return- so I don't want to touch anything. She meant well.

OK.. so I must admit, I was super excited about this couple today. Why you ask? Because I know about their tattoos. Must sound strange from a girl with absolutely no ink. So let me explain. Tattoos are very personal to each individual. Time and thought goes into each one of them. They have stories... they have meaning. As a photographer, I try to tell the stories in an image. I have to say, I was a little disappointed when they both walked up with long sleeve shirts on. But soon enough, one shirt came off and I saw them... TATTOOS.

I never took a good look at them, but I squealed when I saw that image on top. That's her name!!

I applied a blue color wash to a couple of the images from tonight's post below. It's a little more edgy ... but I wanted something "cool" for these boys. I know the things I do sometimes are not for everyone... and that's ok.

It was a little cool, a little grey, a little sad, and a little silly. Being overcast today, I had very little time to work... but I was able to capture some great images of the boys. There is something special about a mom and her boys. something unwritten and unsaid. You can see it in the images.

You all were fun! Thanks for being troopers and putting up with the hiking, the cold, and the sprinkles. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for Benadryl!! Those bluebonnets tear me up.

The weather was a little cooler, my kiddos were a little younger and the bluebonnet field and I have become very acquainted.

A darling six month old cutting some teeth, her mischievous older brother slyly turning around and walking away when I approached him. They made for some interesting images. Fortunately, I get another shot at these two when I photograph the entire family next.

These two are just the cutest things. We ran out of time on Saturday and hit the fields for more this evening. We found the PERFECT spot for bluebonnets. I'll hate to see them go... it seems for the past couple of years they have been non-existent. Every Texas child needs to have their portrait done in the bluebonnets.
