Last night I took my ferns down and put them on the driveway in hopes that it would rain and water them. When I took them down I discovered five tiny bird eggs nestled in a nest. I called my daughter over and showed her the eggs.

Today I walked out and noticed the coke and birdseed left out by the fern. I had to laugh... she was making sure they had plenty to eat and drink. Unfortunately, she also filled the nest with birdseed and probably poured the coke in. Does anyone think these little unborn creatures are salvageable? Send me an e-mail if you think we can save them. I've heard that once a bird egg has been handled by human hands the mommy bird won't return- so I don't want to touch anything. She meant well.
