{New Website}

It's here ! It's here!! The new website is up and though it is still a work in progress... I love it and I am so excited how my images are displayed in it.

Another thing... I am moving the blog to a new location. I hate to leave all my old blogs behind, especially since some are so personal to me. But I was looking for changes and I've made them and I'm happy.

{Tag- I'm it}

Well my lovely photographer friend Rebekah tagged me today which means I have to give up eight things that most people don't know about me. Little did Rebekah know that I am the most BORING person in the world. But I can play along.

1. I majored in biology and psychology in college because I was convinced I was meant to be a doctor. Then I took the MCAT and realized.... hmmmm... maybe not.

2. I married the boy I fell in love at 13 when I was 32.

3. Yes, my daughter is named after one of my favorite restaurants - La Madeleine.

4. I have two real addictions. Coca-Cola and GOOGLE.

5. I try and act cool... but I'm really a self confessed GEEK.

6. I've tried to complete both a marathon and a triathlon and have failed at both. Still on my list of things to do... someday.

7. I may be the single most competitive woman in Waxahachie. I don't like losing. My daughter has a new soccer coach. He saw some girls sitting on their balls and he told them, " there's no resting in soccer - you can rest at home. STAND UP" . This is my six year old's coach. And I like him.

8. I'm not a movie person. I like very few movies. I am a words person. I prefer to listen to music with meaning.

{The new website is coming!!!}

I can not contain my excitement about my new website. If you only knew the pain I went through trying to pick the one that most reflected ME. I had lots of people give me their opinions. After seeing the website with my images in it - I know I picked the right one (for this year - ha ha).

That being said. I am now at the mercy of the web developer. I have no idea what is going to happen when they flip the switch. I anticipate I'll be crying at one point because it's not working the way it's supposed to. So if you happen to go looking for me and see that the site is down. No worries.. come back some time later and look at the glorious new website I've been fretting over since July.

{It's that time!}

It was the first soccer game of the season. Check out the missing teeth. I don't know who has more fun... the children or the parents. We had such a good time we stuck around for our friend's game. I'm proud to say both teams won! Can't wait for next weekend :)

{A Favorite}

OK... maybe two favorites. The first is a favorite because of the story it tells of this couple's relationship. The affection in it is so genuine. And the second one is added because I just fell in love with this property. The image included the couple, the cows, the lake and their home in the distance. To know how large this property is and to have been able to capture all of these elements in one frame seems impossible to me, but yet there it is.

Some girls from Palmer High School stopped by my studio earlier in the week to sell some ad space in their newspaper. {Newborn favorites}

Truth be told... newborns are my favorites. And though it may seem easy to photograph a sleeping baby... it's not. It takes work, time, patience - to name a few. And did I mention we make the room warm so that babies can be comfortable without clothes. It takes some sweat too :) But when you get sweet images such as these, it makes it all worth it.

{Downtown Waxahachie}

I took Madeleine and Denton to Downtown Waxahachie with only ourselves and my camera. I was so surprised at what we found. A couch, a scarecrow, a chair, a ladder, an old frame.... the list goes on and on. I was surprised at how much fun the kids had while doing this. They felt it was like a scavenger hunt.

My daughter and I were talking today and in her six year old wisdom she said, "mommy, it is what's inside that is the treasure".

So I look at this and see the beauty of the little girl inside. No larger than life personality, no rockstar posing. Just the simple beauty of a girl named Porter.... that is a treasure.

For fun we tried out one of her mom's ideas today which was inspired by a scrapbook designer.

And another for laughs... the little monkey that was in my studio today.
